Chapter 8 Linkage Figure 8-17 Network Topology - Remote Switch Management (Batch Operation) The administrator wants to make the following configurations: 1) Change the passwords of all the other switches to the same new password. 2) Perform the MAC/Port binding operation for all the other switches. 3) Retrieve the configuration files of all the other switches. 4) Distribute the system settings of the SW254 to all the other switches. 2. Configuration Steps Step 1 Login to the SW254. Step 2 Go to the Linkage > Linkage Management page, and then click the Discover Switch bLevelOneon to discover other switches. In the Remote Switch Discovery List, select the Select All check box, enter the passwords of the SW251, SW252 and SW253 respectively (if they have the same password, you can directly enter the password in the Global Password text box), and then click the Batch Operate bLevelOneon to go to the batch management page to configure them. Step 3 Enter the new password in the Password and Confirm Password text boxes, and then click the Change Password bLevelOneon. Step 4 Click the Security Binding hyperlink, and then click the OK bLevelOneon in the confirmation dialog box. Step 5 Click the Retrieve Config hyperlink to retrieve the configuration files of the SW251, SW252 and SW253. Then you can view the retrieved configuration files in the Configuration File List, and click the Download bLevelOneon to download each configuration file to your local PC respectively. Step 6 Click the Distribute Config hyperlink to open the distribute configuration page. 2. Configuration Steps
Step 1
Login to the SW254.
Step 2
Go to the
Linkage > Linkage Management
page, and then click the
Discover
Switch
bLevelOneon to discover other switches. In the
Remote Switch
Discovery List
, select the
Select All
check box, enter the passwords of the
SW251, SW252 and SW253 respectively (if they have the same password, you
can directly enter the password in the
Global Password
text box), and then
click the
Batch Operate
bLevelOneon to go to the batch management page to
configure them.
Step 3
Enter the new password in the
Password
and
Confirm Password
text boxes,
and then click the
Change Password
bLevelOneon.
Step 4
Click the
Security Binding
hyperlink, and then click the
OK
bLevelOneon in
the confirmation dialog box.
Step 5
Click the
Retrieve Config
hyperlink to retrieve the configuration files of the
SW251, SW252 and SW253. Then you can view the retrieved configuration
files in the
Configuration File List
, and click the
Download
bLevelOneon to
download each configuration file to your local PC respectively.
Step 6
Click the
Distribute Config
hyperlink to open the distribute configuration page.
Select the
Local Configuration File
radio box, select
Partially Override
from
