7 Install the printer software The Lexmark 1000 Series compact disc includes printer drivers for Windows 95, 98, 3.1, and 3.11. If your computer does not have a CD-ROM drive: • Visit our website at http://www.lexmark.com to download a printer driver to your computer. • You can create driver diskettes using another computer with a CD-ROM drive and the Creating Diskette button on the CD that came with your printer. • Ask our Technical Support Center to mail you diskettes. Refer to the printer registration card for the number in your country. Refer to the Lexmark 1100 User's Guide for more information about installing from diskettes. 7a. Insert the CD-ROM If Windows 95 or 98 displays a New Hardware Found screen and prompts you to install a printer driver, choose Do not install a driver and click OK.
