3-98 PJL Recovering Lost Passwords Use the LQUERYSEED and LBYPASSPASSWORD commands to recover lost passwords. Syntax: @PJL LQUERYSEED[] @PJL LBYPASSPASSWORD KEY = "key"[] Use the following steps to retrieve lost passwords: 1 Send the LQUERYSEED command to the printer by one of the host computer interfaces. This command causes a value, the "seed," to display on the printer operator panel, through MarkVision Professional or, if there isn't an LCD panel, to print on the Menu Settings Page. The value of the "seed" determines the key. 2 Obtain the key from the Lexmark Customer Support Center. You must have the "seed" value. 3 Send the @PJL LBYPASSPASSWORD command to the printer by any port. If the correct key is specified, a modified version of the directory is produced. The directory indicates the appropriate passwords for the flash or disk.
