Faxing 23 Configuring the fax log settings 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup. 2 From the Fax Log Settings section, configure the settings. • Transmission Log-Determine whether to print logs for successful fax transmission or when transmission error occurs. • Receive Error Log-Determine whether to print a log for fax‑receive failures. • Auto Print Logs-Print logs for all fax activity. • Log Paper Source-Specify the paper source for printing logs. • Logs Display-Identify the sender by remote fax name or fax number. • Enable Job Log-Store information of all fax jobs. • Enable Call Log-Store information of fax dialing history. 3 Click Submit. Setting the distinctive ring pattern Some telephone companies offer distinctive ring services to allow multiple telephone numbers in a single line. You can set a distinctive ring pattern for your printer to receive faxes using a specific telephone number. 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup. 2 From the Distinctive Rings section, configure the Answer On setting. 3 Click Submit. Blocking or banning fax numbers Use this feature to avoid receiving spam or junk faxes. You can also check the list of banned fax numbers to determine the cause of not receiving fax from a specific sender. 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup > Fax Receive Settings. 2 To avoid receiving fax without caller ID or station name, click Block No Name Fax. 3 In the Banned Fax List field, add the fax number that you want to ban. 4 Click Submit. Holding faxes Note: This feature is available only in some printer models. Use the Held Fax Mode to receive faxes and temporarily store them in the printer hard disk. The held faxes are secured in the hard disk until the designated release time or when valid user credentials are provided. 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup > Holding Faxes. 2 Select the appropriate held fax mode. • Always On-Always holds fax jobs. • Manual-Lets users select if they want to continue storing fax jobs or not. • Scheduled-Prints faxes depending on the set fax holding schedule.
