Local geography and weather conditions may require additional solar panels. Solar powered gate operator installations are not supported in northern climates due to cold weather and a reduced number of hours of sunlight during the winter months. The cycles/day ratings are approximations. Ratings vary based on gate construction, installation, and temperature. Solar panels cannot be installed in areas that experience long periods of heavy fog, lake effect snow, or rain. 22
