Never plug s ingle-ended (unbalanced) microphones, or ribbon mics into the mic input jacks if phantom power is on. Do not plug instrument outputs into the mic XLR input jacks with phantom power on, u nless you are certain it is safe to do so. 6. LINE INPUTS SLEEVE SLEEVE TIP These 1/4" jacks share circuitry (but not phantom TIP power) with the mic preamps, and can be drTiIPven by balanced or unbalanced sources. SLEEVE To connect balanced lines to these inputs, use a 1⁄4" Tip-Ring-Sleeve (TRS) plug, wired as follows: RING SLEEVE SLEEVE RING TIP TIP RING TIP SLEEVE Tip = Positive (+ or hot) Ring = Negative (- or cold) Sleeve = Shield or ground To connect unbalanced lines to these inputs, use a 1⁄4" mono (TS) phone plug, wired as follows: SLEEVE SLEEVE TIP TIP TIP SLEEVE Tip = Positive (+ or hot) Sleeve = Shield or gRIrNGouSnLEdEVE SLEEVE RING TIP 7. STEREO LINE INPUTS TIP RING The stereo line inputs are designed for 1/4" TTIPRS balanced or 1/4" TS unbalanced signals. They SmLEaEVyE accept any line-level instrument, effects device, CD player, etc. Level control is available -20 dB to +20 dB. If you are connecting a mono source, use the left (mono) input, and the mono signals will appear on both sides of the main mix. The first two stereo channels [9/10 and 11/12 on the ProFX16 and 15/16 and 17/18 on the ProFX22] are hybrid channels, each with a mic input XLR jack [5] and low cut switch [10]. In these channels, the gain control [9] only affects the mic input. The stereo line inputs are fixed at unity gain. 12 ProFX16 and ProFX22
