TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service: Symptom Compact Disc Player CD Player will not play. CD skips while playing. Possible Cause CD is not installed or installed upside-down. Disc is dirty or scratched. General No sound. Karaoke Some vocals are still present when Vocal Auto feature is activated. Feedback is heard when singing. Words do not appear on monitor and/or TV. Power cord disconnected. Backup vocals are supposed to be included. Microphone is too close to unit or MIC volume is too high. Using non-CD+G disc. (FOR MONITOR) MONITOR switch set to OFF. Solution Insert CD with label side up. Wipe disc with cloth or use another disc. Connect power cord. This is normal; only the main vocal(s) are to be reduced. Move microphone away from unit or decrease MIC volume. Use CD+G disc. Set MONITOR switch to ON. (FOR TV) Video cable not connected Check the connection as described properly to TV. on pages 5-6. (FOR TV) Source not selected on TV. Change the TV video source to match the location of your karaoke machine connection. (i.e. VIDEO 1, AUX IN, etc.) A CD+G disc is playing but the CD+G indicator isn't on. CD+G disc may need cleaning. (See CARE AND MAINTENANCE page 19.) USB Jack and/or SD/MMC Memory Card External device will not play. External device not connected properly. Connect as described on page 14. Volume at minimum. Increase volume. Will not record to external device. Device's memory is full. Move all recordings to your personal computer to make room for additional recordings. 2220
