Getting Started Before you can use your expansion handset to make or answer calls, you must charge the battery and then register the handset with the main base. This section provides the step-by-step instructions you will need along with instructions on using the handset display and soft keys. Expansion handsets do not need to be plugged into a phone line. Simply plug the power cord into the back of the charging base and into an outlet wherever you want to place the handset. Battery Safety Instructions • Do not burn, disassemble, mutilate, or puncture the battery. The battery contains toxic materials that could be released, resulting in injury. • Caution: There is a risk of explosion if you replace the battery with an incorrect battery type.
