Auto Image Rotation Photographs taken while [On] (the default option) is selected contain information on camera orientation, allowing them to be rotated automatically during playback (pg. 251) or when viewed in ViewNX or Capture NX (available separately) (pg. 367). The following orientations are recorded: Landscape (wide) orientation Camera rotated 90° clockwise Camera rotated 90° counter-clockwise Camera orientation is not recorded when [Off ] is selected. Choose this option when taking photographs with the lens pointing up or down. D Auto Image Rotation In continuous mode (pg. 74), the orientation recorded for the first shot applies to all photographs in the same burst, even if camera orientation is changed during shooting.
