Troubleshooting Problem Unexpected results when flash set to V (auto with red-eye reduction). Cause/Solution A When taking pictures with V (auto with red- 26, 28, eye reduction), or when taking pictures with 35 Night portrait (either in easy auto mode or the Night portrait scene mode) and the fill flash with slow sync and red-eye reduction is used, red-eye reduction may be applied, in rare cases, to areas not affected by red-eye. Use any auto mode or scene mode other than Night portrait, and change the flash to any other settings other than V (auto with red-eye reduction) and try shooting again. Playback Problem Cause/Solution A File cannot be played back. File was overwritten or renamed by computer or - other make of camera. Cannot zoom in on picture. Playback zoom cannot be used with movies, - small pictures, or pictures that have been cropped to 320 × 240 or smaller. Cannot use D-Lighting, small picture, or crop options. • These options cannot be used with movies. 55 • Pictures taken at an Image mode setting of 72 P 3968×2232 cannot be edited. • Select picture that supports D-Lighting, small 49 picture, or crop. • Camera is unable to edit pictures taken with 49 other cameras. Technical Notes Pictures not displayed on television. • Choose correct Video mode. 99 • Memory card contains no pictures. Replace 16 memory card. Remove memory card to play back pictures from internal memory. Nikon Transfer 2 does not start when camera is connected. • Camera is off. 18 • Battery exhausted. 18 • USB cable is not correctly connected. 58 • Camera is not recognized by the computer. - • Computer is not set to launch Nikon Transfer 2 - automatically.
