Troubleshooting If the camera fails to function as expected, check the list of common problems below before consulting your retailer or Nikon-authorized service representative. Power, Display, Settings Issues Problem The camera is on but does not respond. Camera turns off without warning. Monitor is blank. Cause/Solution A • Wait for recording to end. • If the problem persists, turn the camera off. If the camera does not turn off, remove and reinsert the battery or batteries or, if you are using an AC adapter, disconnect and reconnect the AC adapter. Note that although any data currently being recorded will be lost, data that have already been recorded will not be affected by removing or disconnecting the power source. - 10, 11, 19, E66 • Batteries are exhausted. 18 • Camera has turned off automatically to save power. 82, E55 • The camera and batteries have become too cold F5 and cannot operate properly. • Camera is off. • Batteries are exhausted. • Standby mode for saving power: Press the power switch, the shutter-release button, A button, c button, or b (e movie-record) button. • When flash lamp flashes, wait until flash has charged. • Camera and computer are connected via USB cable. • Camera and TV are connected via audio/video cable. 19 18 2, 19 46 65, 70 65, E12 Technical Notes and Index F8
