Shooting Features Smart Portrait Mode (Capturing Smiling Faces) When the camera detects a smiling face, you can take a picture automatically without pressing the shutter-release button (smile timer). You can use the skin softening option to smooth the skin tones in people's faces. Enter shooting mode M A (shooting mode) button M F Smart portrait mode M k button 1 Frame the picture. • Point the camera at a person's face. • "Using Face Detection" (A 57) 2 Wait for the subject to smile. Do not press the shutter-release button. • If the camera detects that the face framed by the double border is smiling, it automatically releases the shutter (Smile timer; A 55, E30). • After the camera releases the shutter, it continues to detect faces and smiles, and releases the shutter again if it detects a smiling face. 3 Shooting ends. • To cancel smile detection and stop shooting, perform any of the following operations: - Turn the camera off. - Set Smile timer (A 55, E30) to Off. - Press the A button and select a different shooting mode. 39
