GPS Setting Menu GPS Settings Press the d button M z (GPS setting) tab (A13) M GPS options Option Record GPS data Synchronize Update A-GPS file Description When set to On, signals are being received from the GPS satellite, and positioning starts (A102). • The default setting is Off. Signals from the GPS satellite are used to set the date and time of the camera's internal clock (only when Record GPS data in GPS options of the GPS setting menu is set to On). Check the positioning status before starting synchronize. A memory card is used to update the A-GPS (assist GPS) file. Using the latest A-GPS file can shorten the time needed for tracking of the position information. See "Updating the A-GPS File" (E70) for more information. Reference Section B Notes on Synchronize • Date/time adjustment by Synchronize is set according to the time zone set in Time zone and date (A26, E75) of the setup menu. Check the time zone before setting Synchronize. • The date/time set using Synchronize is not as accurate as radio clocks. Use Time zone and date in the setup menu to set the time if it is not accurate in Synchronize. E69
