6 Repeating (RPT) flash operation What is Repeating flash operation In Repeating flash operation, the Speedlight fires repeatedly during a single exposure, creating stroboscopic multiple-exposure effects. This operation is useful when shooting fast-moving subjects. When using cameras compatible with CLS, the SU-800 controls the flash output of the remote flash units (such as the SB-910, SB-900, SB-800), which are divided into three groups (A, B, and C), independently for each group. • Be sure to read the user's manual of the Speedlight in use. Use the flash mode setting. • Be sure to use fresh batteries and allow enough time for the flash to recycle between each repeating flash session. • Also, because of the slower shutter speeds, use of a tripod is recommended to prevent camera/flash shake. Then, press and hold down the [SEL](FUNC.) button for approx. 2 seconds to toggle between the Repeating and Commander flash operations. • Confirm that the RPT is displayed. What is Repeating flash operation
In Repeating flash operation, the Speedlight fires repeatedly during a single
exposure, creating stroboscopic multiple-exposure effects. This operation is
useful when shooting fast-moving subjects. When using cameras compatible
with CLS, the SU-800 controls the flash output of the remote flash units (such as

Notes on Repeating flash operation
The SB-R200 cannot be used.
Setting the flash units in group A or B to fire or cancel is not possible using the [A
B]
select button. Use the flash mode setting.
Be sure to use fresh batteries and allow enough time for the flash to recycle between each
repeating flash session.
Also, because of the slower shutter speeds, use of a tripod is recommended to prevent
camera/flash shake.
