Wireless modem setup • INSTALL THE MODEM Important: You must follow the DKU-5 installation instructions (found in the DKU-5 sales package) prior to completing the steps below. 1 Connect the DKU-5 Data Cable to an available USB port on your computer. 2 Connect the DKU-5 cable to your Nokia phone. Your phone displays a message indicating you have connected the data cable successfully, then returns to the Start screen. 3 From the Windows Control Panel, Double click the Modems (98/ME) or Phone and Modem Options (2000/XP) icon. 4 Click Add. (Windows 2000/XP users should click the Modems tab, then click Add). 5 Select the Do not detect my modem... option, then click Next. 6 Click Other if asked about a PCMCIA modem, then click Next. (this screen may not appear on all systems) 7 Insert the floppy diskette containing the .inf file in your drive now. Click the Have Disk button. Confirm that A:\ is the location of the nmpcdma1xrtt.inf file, then click OK. 8 Select the correct modem for the type of data services you plan on using (for example, Nokia CDMA 1XRTT 3G Packet Data Modem for 1XRTT packet data), then click Next. 9 9 Select the COM port assigned to the DKU-5 cable, then click Next. For DKU-5 (If you cannot remember the COM port assigned to the DKU-5 during the installation process, please refer to Windows Device Manager). 10 The Wizard indicates it has located the correct software for your phone. Click Yes to continue the installation if Windows presents the Digital Signature Not Found message. 11 Click Finish when Windows informs you that the device is installed successfully. [ 25 ]

Important:
You must follow the DKU-5 installation instructions (found in the DKU-5 sales package) prior to completing
the steps below.

Connect the DKU-5 Data Cable to an available USB port on your computer.

Connect the DKU-5 cable to your Nokia phone.
Your phone displays a message indicating you have connected the data cable
successfully, then returns to the Start screen.

From the Windows
Control Panel
