Reference Information Protection Cap of the Antenna Connector At the back of the phone below the antenna there is a connector for an external antenna. The connector may be protected by a rubber cap. If it is, first remove the cap when connecting the external antenna. After removing the antenna, replace the cap. Note: Keep the cap out of the reach of small children. Battery Information The following manufacturer-approved rechargeable batteries are available for your phone: NiMH batteries BMS-2V, BMS-2S and BMS-2, and Li-Ion batteries BLS-2 and BLS-4. Charging and Discharging the Battery • Your phone is powered by a rechargeable battery. • Note that a new battery's full performance is achieved only after two or three complete charge and discharge cycles! • The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times but it will eventually wear out. When the operating time (talktime and stand-by time) is noticeably shorter than normal, it is time to buy a new battery. • Use only batteries approved by the phone manufacturer and recharge your battery only with the chargers approved by the manufacturer. • When a charger is not in use, disconnect it from the power source. Do not leave the battery connected to a charger for longer than a week, since overcharging may shorten its life. If left unused a fully charged battery will discharge itself over time. • For good operation times, discharge the NiMH battery from time to time by leaving your phone switched on until it turns itself off ©1998 Nokia Mobile Phones.
