One side of printed pages appears blurred Possible cause Remedy Top cover is not properly closed. One or more of the toner cartridges is not seated properly. Press the cover release latch and open, then close, the cover. Open the top cover and check to be sure that each toner cartridge is fully seated and that each toner cartridge lock lever is pushed all the way back. Miscellaneous problems The power is on, but the printer does not go online. Possible cause Bad connection Remedy Switch off the printer and disconnect the power cable. Reconnect the power cable and switch the printer on. If this does not clear the fault, call for service. Print processing does not start. Possible cause Printer error Remedy Check the control panel. If an error message is displayed, correct the problem. Print processing cancels. Possible cause Remedy The printer interface cable is faulty. The time out setting is too short. Replace the printer interface cable. Reset time out in the menu to a higher value (SYS CONFIG MENU →WAIT TIMEOUT). Troubleshooting • 107

The power is on, but the printer does not go online.
Print processing does not start.

Possible cause
Remedy
Top cover is not

Press the cover release latch and open, then
close, the cover.
One or more of the
toner cartridges is
not seated properly.
Open the top cover and check to be sure that
each toner cartridge is fully seated and that each
toner cartridge lock lever is pushed all the way
back.

Switch off the printer and disconnect the power
cable. Reconnect the power cable and switch the
printer on. If this does not clear the fault, call for
