FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Printing FTP is used for transferring a file with TCP/IP. If the print data is sent to a logical printer via FTP, it is printed. Refer to the workstation's manual for details of the ftp command. The following explanation uses: • print file = test.prn • printer name = okiprinter_lp Logical Directories The print server includes three logical directories. Logical directory Used for lp Printing a file created using the printer driver. sjis Printing a text file of Shift JIS Kanji code. PostScript only. euc Printing a text file of the EUC Kanji code. PostScript only. NOTE You cannot send data to the root directory. Printing Example 1. Login to the network interface card. When printing with ftp, use any values for name and password. However, if the user name is [root], the password set under TELNET or the utility are required. See the appropriate section for details. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Printing
FTP is used for transferring a file with TCP/IP. If the print data is sent to a
logical printer via FTP,
it is printed.
Refer to the workstation’s manual for details of the ftp command.
The following explanation uses:
print file = test.prn
printer name = okiprinter_lp
Logical Directories
The print server includes three logical directories.
Printing Example
1. Login to the network interface card.
When printing with ftp, use any values for name and password.
However, if the user name is [root], the password set under TELNET
or the utility are required. See the appropriate section for details.
