Shooting Selecting the metering area There are 2 ways of measuring the brightness of a subject: Center-weighted metering and spot metering. Center-weighted metering Meters the brightness over a wide area with emphasis on the center of the screen. This method is used when you do not want to let the brightness of the surrounding area affect the picture. Spot metering Meters within the AF target mark to determine exposure. A subject can be shot with optimal exposure regardless of the background light (such as when the subject is dark due to back lighting.) When is set, you can use spot En metering when shooting up close to a subject. Selecting the metering area
There are 2 ways of measuring the brightness of a subject: Center-weighted
metering and spot metering.
Center-weighted metering
Meters the brightness over a wide area with emphasis on the center of the
screen. This method is used when you do not want to let the brightness of the
surrounding area affect the picture.
Spot metering
Meters within the AF target mark to determine exposure. A subject can be
shot with optimal exposure regardless of the background light (such as when
the subject is dark due to back lighting.) When
is set, you can use spot
metering when shooting up close to a subject.
Available
