Selecting a record mode You can select a record mode in which to take pictures or shoot movies. Choose the best record mode for your purpose (printing, editing on a PC, website editing, etc.). For details of the available record mode and resolutions, and the number of still pictures or the movie recording time allowed on the card, refer to the table on the next page. The numbers in the table are approximate. Record mode Description Quality • A high quality mode. Clearer • Fewer images can be saved to a card. • Takes longer to store the images. File size Larger SHQ Uses • Good for printing. • Can be enlarged to A4 (210 mm x 297 mm / 8.3" x 11.7") size. 4 • Good for processing on a PC. • Factory default setting. HQ SQ1/SQ2 Uses • Good for editing on a PC or printing in postcard size. • The resolutions are smaller than in SHQ or HQ. • A standard quality mode. • More images can be saved to a card.
