Tap Disconnect to terminate the connection between your handheld and your service. 3. Tap Done. Adding detailed information to a network service profile If you are using one of the predefined network service profiles, you probably need to enter only your user name, password, and telephone number. If you are creating a new network service profile, you may need to provide additional information to your ISP or dial-in server. You use the Details dialog box to add more information to a selected network service profile. To add connection details: 1. From the Communications Preferences list, select Network. 2. Tap the service field. 3. Tap Details. Idle timeout The Idle timeout setting defines how long your handheld waits before dropping the connection with your ISP or dial-in server when you switch out of a TCP/IP application. To set the Idle timeout: 1. Tap the Idle timeout pick list and select one of the following options: 1 minute 2 minutes 3 minutes Never 2. Tap OK. Waits one minute for you to open another application before it drops the connection. Waits two minutes. Waits three minutes. Keeps your PPP or SLIP connection until you turn off your handheld (or until it times out). 214
