● The aperture value and shutter speed are displayed. (If the aperture value and shutter speed are shown in red and flashing, you do not have the appropriate exposure, unless you are using the flash.) ● Once the subject is in focus, the focus indication lights. (When the subject is not in focus, the indication blinks.) 2 Start recording. ● Press the shutter button fully (press it further). 3. Basic Operations • With the default settings, you cannot take a picture until the subject is brought into focus. If you set [Focus/Release Priority] in the [Custom] ([Focus / Release Shutter]) menu to [BALANCE] or [RELEASE], you will be able to take a picture even when the subject is not in focus. Recording Videos 1 Start recording. ● Press the video rec. button. • Release the video rec. button right after you press it. 2 Stop recording. ● Press the video rec. button again. DVQX2040 (ENG) 39
