Basic Operations Shutter button (Taking pictures) The shutter button works in two steps. To take a picture, press it. Press the shutter button halfway to focus. (It will flash in red if the correct exposure is not achieved, except when set to flash.) • Once the subject is in focus, the focus indication is displayed. Motion picture button (Recording motion pictures) Press the motion picture button to start and stop recording a motion picture.
