Taking motion pictures 'MOTION PICTURE Mode' Mode: This enables recording of (monaural) audio motion pictures. (Recording with muted sound is not possible.) Zoom can also be used during recording. If the motion picture is recorded on a memory card, one that is marked as '10 MB/s' or faster on the package is recommended. Set to Microphone Set the mode dial to (MOTION PICTURE Mode). Start recording Remaining recording time (approx.) Press halfway (Adjust the focus) Playing back motion pictures (P.84) Press fully (start recording) Elapsed recording time (approx.) End recording Press fully A maximum of approx. 2 GB of continuous motion pictures can be recorded. (Even if there is more than 2 GB of available space on the card, the available recording time will be calculated for a maximum of 2 GB.) To record more than 2 GB, press the shutter button again. Do not block the microphone with your fingers. Immediately release the shutter button after pressing it. No audio will be recorded for a few seconds after recording is started if the button is held down. Camera operation sounds, such as zoom movement and beeps may be recorded. The zoom speed is slower than normal. AF MODE is fixed at 1-area-focusing, and stabilizer is fixed at 'MODE1'. To fix the focus setting, set 'CONTINUOUS AF' to 'OFF'. Extended optical zoom and ROTATE DISP. for pictures taken vertically are not available. 'NATURAL' and 'VIVID' cannot be set for motion picture recording. Recording automatically ends when there is no more available space. For certain memory cards, recording may end while in progress. MultiMediaCards are not supported.
