You can adjust the level according to your preference by thickening or thinning the ultra bass, for example. Press SUBWOOFER and make a selection. Adjustment range: --- (off), MIN (minimum), 5, 10, 15, MAX (maximum) • Factory setting: SUBW 10 • Select "--- " to stop output. Note • Sound can be distorted if you raise the volume while the subwoofer level is high. Reduce the subwoofer level if this occurs. • Adjust the output level by taking steps described in "Adjusting the output level" (á page 26) when you wish to make detailed settings. Press MUTING • "MUTING IS ON " scrolls on the display while the volume is muted. • Press the button again to cancel the operation. Note Muting is canceled when the unit is turned off. Press DIMMER • Press the button to dim the display. • Press the button again to cancel the operation. Note Refer to page 29 for adjusting the brightness of the display. Plug type: ø 6.3 mm (1/4") stereo standard plug 3 Adjust the volume by turning [VOLUME, -, +]. Note • Avoid listening for prolonged periods of time to prevent hearing damage. • Playback channels become two when you switch all speakers off. The 2-channel mix (2CH MIX) function activates automatically when you play a multi-channel source. (Excluding DVD-Audio sources that do not allow down-mixing) • The "DVD ANALOG 6CH" function (á page 18) goes off and front two channels make audio output when you play sources through analog 6-channel connections (á page 8). 27 RQT8549
