TAKING PICTURES AT A SLOW SHUTTER SPEED Slow Shutter Speed (Flash- OFF) Depress the Mode Button until the ( symbol ap- pears on the LCD panel. In this mode, the flash does not discharge, and a picture is taken at a slow shutter speed up to approx. I/ 5 second. Use it in places where flash photography is prohibited, such as in theaters and museums. Further- more,this mode is alsouseful for anatural existinglight effect in low ambient photography. Note: • When shooting in low light, the shutter speed gets slower, and camera shake is likely to blur your picture. Use of a tripod is recommended. Slow-Speed- Synchro Shooting (Flash- On) Depress the Mode Button to set the slow - speed - sync mode until the (El $.) symbo appears on the LCD panel. It is possible to photograph subjects and background in a balanced way (as shown in the photo) by usingthebuilt-inflashtoproperly expose the foreground subject anda slow-shutter-speed to expose the low light background. 25
