LOADING BATTERIES If 1. Open the Battery Chamber Cover at the base of the camera by sliding it in the direction of the arrow; use a fingernail in the groove to push and raise the cover. 2. Insert two batteries into the chamber with the (+) and (-) sides placed correctly as indicated on the cover. One set of alklaine batteries should last about a year with average use at normal temperatures, without using flash. But their performance goes down considerably at freezing temperatures. 4 Manganese batteries are also suitable, but they are far less powerful than alkaline ones.
