71 2 Look through the viewfinder and press the shutter release button halfway down to focus on the subject. The focus indicator []] lights up in the viewfinder when the subject is in focus. (The subject is out of focus when it is blinking.) • The focus is locked while []] is lit (focus lock). To focus on another subject, 4 take your finger off of the shutter release button first. • The shutter cannot be released until the subject is in focus in l (single mode). If the subject is too close to the camera, move back and take the picture. Set the focus manually when the subject is difficult to focus.
