2 1 Gimp thread sewing foot This special sewing foot is used to sew in gimp threads (cords, synthetic threads) up to a thickness of 1,0 mm. This produ ces an undulating or stiffer hem (e.g. on wedding dresses and valance). Preparing the machine: Program: 13 (switch converter on) or prog. 16 Stitch length: 1,0 to 1,5 Stitch width: 3 to 4 Differential setting: N Sewing foot pressure: N Needle plate: rolled seam needle plate R Thread tension: see display (press mod key) Sewing foot: gimp thread sewing foot Upper knife: engaged Inserting the gimp thread 1. Raise the sewing foot and set the needle in its highest position. 2. Place the fabric under the sewing foot. 3. Thread gimp thread (cord) through the hole 1 and then place it in guide 2 of the sewing foot shoe. 4. Sew a test seam. 63
