ENGLISH • Do not use sharp objects or harsh chemical products (solvents) for cleaning. • We recommend cleaning the water tank and filling it up with fresh water daily. • After heating the drink, use a small quantity of hot water for cleaning the pipe and clean it on the outside with a damp cloth. • After frothing up the milk, clean the cappuccinatore using lukewarm water. • (Fig.24) - Empty and clean the drip tray daily. • Use a soft cloth moistened with water to clean the appliance. • (Fig.16) - To clean the "Crema" filter-holder proceed as follows: - Extract the filter, immerse it in hot water and wash it thoroughly. - Wash the internal part of the "Crema" filterholder. • Do not dry the machine and/or its components using a microwave and/or conventional oven. 11 DESCALING Scale normally forms with the use of the appliance; Descaling is necessary every 3 - 4 months of use of the machine and/or if you notice a reduction in water flow. If you want to descale the machine yourself, you can use a non-toxic and/or non-harmful descaling product for coffee machines, commonly available in the shops. We recommend using Saeco descaling solution. Warning! Never use vinegar as a descaler. Make sure the pannarello is installed. • Remove the water tank and empty out the remaining water. • (Fig.2) - Mix the descaling solution with water as specified on the pack of the descaling product and fill the water tank; insert the tank into the machine. • (Fig.4) - Turn on the machine by pressing the main switch (2). • (Fig.5) - Place a container below the steam nozzle. • Remove (one cup at a time) the whole content of the water tank at intervals by turning the steam knob (7) counter clockwise and pressing the coffee button (4); to stop the dispensing press the coffee button again (4) and turn the steam knob (7) clockwise. • (Fig.4) - During each interval allow the descaling solution to take effect for about 10-15 minutes, disconnecting the main switch (2). Empty the container. • (Fig.2) - When the descaling solution is finished, extract the water tank, rinse it and fill it with fresh drinking water. • (Fig.3; Fig.5) - Replace the water tank in the machine; empty 2/3 of its contents by turning the steam knob (7) anti-clockwise and pressing the coffee button (4); to stop the dispensing press the coffee button again (4) and turn the steam knob (7) clockwise. • Allow the machine to warm up and empty the remaining content of the water tank by turning the steam knob (7) anti-clockwise and pressing the coffee button (4). To stop dispensing press the coffee button again (4) and turn the steam knob (7) clockwise. If you are using a product other than the recommended one it is important to always follow the manufacturer's instructions shown on the pack of the descaling product. 12 REGULAR SERVICING Regular servicing by an Authorized Service Centre prolongs the life and reliability of the machine.
