Specifications 1.4 Name and Function of Parts & Pin Layout 1.4.1 Plasma display monitor (PDP-504CMX/PDP-50MXE1/PDP-50MXE1-S) For information on the plasma display, refer to "Name and Function of Parts" in the Technical Manual supplied with the PDP-504CMX. 1.4.2 Handwriting device (PDK-50HW3) a) Scan device PEN NORMAL Rear side of unit Mode selector switch Set the mode switch in accordance with whether you will use the special pen or other device to input characters and lines on the screen. PEN Mode: In this mode, the special accessory pen can be used to write on the screen. Using the special pen allows the drawing of more clearly delineated characters and lines. NORMAL Mode: In this mode, your finger or other object can be used to write on the screen. This mode will produce lower screen definition, however, compared to drawing with the dedicated input pen. Power indicator (Lights green when ON) IR transmitting filter Note: When the power switch is first turned on, the power indicator will flash orange; while the indicator is flashing, do not touch the screen, since the unit is initializing its internal settings b) Special pen ¶ Name and function of parts Holes in rear end of pen Tip Cap LED indicator Battery cover If pen operation becomes difficult: The pen may fail to operate properly if the holes in rear end of pen are blocked. Also, the pen may begin operating erratically when the battery becomes depleted. In this event, change the battery at your earliest opportunity. Large button (corresponds to right mouse button) Small button (The function corresponding to middle mouse button can be assigned using the driver software.)
