Chain Adjustment Tool (Bar Tool) Front Hand Guard Front Handle Starter Rope Chain Muffler ON/STOP Switch Primer Bulb Bar Oil Fill Cap Cylinder Cover Starter Housing Throttle Rear Lockout Handle Adjusting Screw Fuel Mix Fill Cap Chain Direction of Travel Throttle Trigger Choke/ Fast Idle Lever Chain Brake Chain Chain Brake Nuts Guide Bar Catcher ON/STOP SWITCH CHAIN BRAKE The ON/STOP SWITCH is used to stop the engine. THROTTLE TRIGGER The THROTTLE TRIGGER controls engine speed. THROTTLE LOCKOUT The THROTTLE LOCKOUT must be pressed before you can squeeze the throttle trigger. This feature prevents you from accidentally squeezing the trigger. CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER The choke and fast idle are set by pulling the CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER out fully for cold or refueled starting. The choke provides additional fuel to the engine during cold starting. PRIMER BULB The PRIMER BULB circulates fuel to the carburetor to provide quicker starting. The CHAIN BRAKE is a device designed to stop the chain if kickback occurs. The chain brake activates automatically in the event of kickback. The chain brake activates manually if the front hand guard is pushed forward. The chain brake is disengaged by pulling the front hand guard back toward the front handle as far as possible. CHAIN TENSION It is normal for a new chain to stretch during first 30 minutes of operation. You should check your chain tension frequently. See CHAIN TENSION under the SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS section. WARNING: Muffler is very hot dur- ing and after use. Do not touch the muffler or allow combustible material such as dry grass or fuel to do so. 7

ON/STOP SWITCH
The ON/STOP SWITCH is used to stop the
engine.
THROTTLE TRIGGER
The THROTTLE TRIGGER controls engine
speed.
THROTTLE LOCKOUT
The THROTTLE LOCKOUT must be pressed
before you can squeeze the throttle trigger.
This feature prevents you from accidentally

CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER

CHOKE/FAST IDLE LEVER out fully for cold
