ASSEMBLY INSTALLING THE SANDING BELT ASSEMBLY See Figure 11. n Remove the fan and clean sawdust from inside table recess. n Slide the fan onto the motor shaft (vanes face down) aligning slot with roll pin as shown. The fan is used in all sanding operations. n Slide belt assembly down motor shaft. Align drive drum splines with the slots in the fan. Place belt assembly into the wear plate opening as shown. n Tighten spindle knob. Do not overtighten. NOTE: Knob turns counterclockwise to tighten. n Install sanding belt (see "Removing/Installing the Sanding Belt", page 21). n Plug the power cord into the power source and install the key. REMOVING THE SANDING BELT ASSEMBLY See Figure 12. n Loosen the work rest knob and pivot the work rest out of the way. Tighten the work rest knob. n Remove the spindle knob and lift off the sanding belt assembly. n NOTE: Knob turns clockwise to loosen. n Store assembly in pocket in rear of base.
