Quickly Switching to Silent Mode Silent mode is convenient when you wish to stop the phone from making noise, in a theater for example. In Idle mode, press and hold the key until the "Silent Mode" message and the Vibration icon ( ) display. In Silent Mode, instead of sounds, your phone will vibrate, flash its' light, or do nothing depending on the function and situation. To exit and reactivate the previous sound settings, press and hold the key again until the "Exit Silent Mode" appears. The Vibration icon no longer displays. While in Silent mode, your phone changes the sound settings as follows: Option Alert Type (Menu 6.4) Keypad Tone (Menu 6.5) Message Tone (Menu 6.6) Folder Tone (Menu 6.7) Power On/Off (Menu 6.8) Alerts On Call (Menu 6.9) Extra Tones (Menu 6.0) New Setting Vibration Off Off Off Vibration On Off To exit and reactivate the previous sound settings, press and hold the key again until "Exit Silent Mode" appears.
