1. Plug the AC power cord into AC outlet. 2. Using a straightened paper clip, toothpick, or similar object press RESET button located inside the pinhole at the rear side of the unit. Caution : DO NOT use a sharp end object to press the RESET button, it may damage the reset switch inside the unit. Note : RESET operation will clear the system memory and all • of your previous settings will be cleared. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE : Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service. Symptom General No operation Possible Cause Subject to a severe power surge or electric shock. Radio Noise or sound distorted on AM(MW) or FM broadcasts. AM(MW) or FM, no sound. Station is not tuned properly for AM or FM. FM: Wire antenna is not extended. AM: The bar antenna is not positioned correctly. AM or FM mode is not selected. Volume at minimum level. Compact Disc Player CD Player will not play. CD skips while playing. CD mode is not selected. CD is not installed or installed incorrectly. Disc is dirty or scratched. 17 • Solution Plug the AC power cord into AC outlet. Press RESET button to reset unit. Retune the AM or FM broadcast station Extend FM wire antenna. Reposition the unit until best reception is obtained. Press BAND key to select AM or FM. Increase Volume level. Press' ► II (PLAY/PAUSE) button to select CD. Place the CD on inner CD door, printed side facing down. Wipe disc with cloth or use another disc.
