Preparations for use Installing the batteries / Battery check Insert the batteries as shown in the illustrations. Insure that the polarity is correct! Note: Use only AlMn "Micro" batteries, type IEC LR 06. Move switch 6 into the "ON" position. If the operation indicator lamp 5 does not light or is very weak, either the batteries are inserted incorrectly or they are exhausted. The battery test (lasting about 5 minutes) should be made each time the unit is put into service. The max. operating time is approx. 5 hours. 13
