Recording Dubbing Mode You can copy a DVD disc to a videotape or copy a videotape to a DVD disc.This function will be possible only if the DVD disc or the videotape is not copy protected. Before starting this function, prepare for the recording on the DVD-RW/-R disc or the videotape. Refer to pages 32-33, 95. Make sure: • Insert a recordable disc and a videotape with an erase-protection tab. Note for recording to a videotape: • The videotape's erase-protection tab is intact. • The remaining time of the videotape is long enough. Note for recording to a disc: • Make sure that the disc is recordable. Refer to pages 26-27. 1 Press SETUP to display setting menu. Easy Setting Menu or Advanced Setting Menu will appear. If Advanced Setting Menu is displayed, proceed to STEP 3. Easy Setting Menu OSD Language Clock Channel DVD-RW Recording Format Timer Programming Auto Finalize Progressive Disc Advanced Setting Menu VCR DVD English VR mode OFF 2 Select "Advanced Setting Menu" using Cursor K / L, then press ENTER. Advanced Setting Menu will appear. Advanced Setting Menu Playback Recording Display Select Video Clock Channel Disc Easy Setting Menu 3 Select "Recording" using Cursor K / L, then press ENTER. Recording menu will appear. Recording DVD-RW Recording Format Auto Chapter Timer Programming Recording Audio Select (XP) Auto Finalize Dubbing Mode DVD VR mode 10 minutes Dolby Digital VCR DVD 4 Select "Dubbing Mode" using Cursor K / L, then press ENTER. Option window will appear. Dubbing Mode VCR DVD DVD VCR VCR DVD 1 2 3 4 VCR/DVD RECORDER COMBINATION Note For VCR to DVD duplication: • After starting VCR to DVD duplication, the picture may be distorted because of the auto tracking function. This is not a malfunction. Be advised to play back the videotape until the picture is stabilized, then set the starting point which you wish to start recording, and start VCR to DVD duplication. 42
