(5) Darrnng 1...Using a hoop Step-i Step-2 Step-3 To attach darning foot, see p.8. Stretch the fabric on the hoop with the worn -out part in the center. Hold the hoop correctly as shown. Place the upper thread under the foot passing through the hole of the foot. Sew over the worn-out part, guiding the hoop back and forth by hand. Making stitches closely spaced gives a better finish. * Be sure the presser foot is lowered. Turn the fabric 90° and sew in the same way. * By making the turning points blunt, the darned part becomes softer and more flexible. 39
