cleaning

and

oiling

for

satisfactory

sewing

performance.

A

machine

which

is

used

for

a

few

hours

a

day

needs

to

be

cleaned

and

oiled

once

a

month.

*Do

not

tamper

with

parts

while

cleaning

or

oiling.

*

Be

sure

to

unplug

the

machine

while

cleaning

or

oiling.

Feed

dog

Dust

or

lint

in

the

needle

plate

or

feed

dog

may

lead

to

improper

movement

of

the

feed

dog

or

other

many

troubles,

so

they

always

need

to

be

clean.

Rotary

hook

(1)

Set

the

needle

in

the

highest

position

by

turning

the

handwheel

toward

you.

(2)

Remove

the

needle,

and

the

foot.

(3)

Remove

the

needle

plate,

loosening

the

screws

with

the

large

screwdriver.

(4)

Brush

off

all

the

lint

with

the

attached

cleaning

brush.

Clean

especially

the

upper

part

of

the

feed

dog

and

between

the

teeth.

Dust

or

lint

in

the

rotary

hook

cause

the

slow

running

of

the

machine

or

irregular

stitches,

so

it

always

needs

to

be

clean.

Open

the

shuttle

cover

and

remove

the

bobbin

case.

Brush

off

all

the

lint

with

the

attached

cleaning

brush.

*When

the

thread

is

rooted

in

the

hook

groove,

turn

the

handwheel

away

from

you

and

take

out

the

thread.
