Safety Precautions Installation • Check the unit's operating voltage before operation. It must be identical with that of your local power supply. The operating voltage is indicated on the nameplate at the rear of the unit. • Stop operation immediately if any liquid or solid object should fall into the cabinet. Unplug the unit and have it checked by qualified personnel. • Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if you will not use it for a long time. Disconnect the cord by grasping the plug. Never pull the cord itself. The unit is not disconnected from the mains as long as it is plugged into the wall outlet. even if the unit itself has been turned off. • Do not disassemble the cabinet. The laser beam used in this unit is harmful to the eyes when uncovered. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only. Placing Your Unit • Place the unit in a location with adequate air circulation to prevent internalheat buildupIn the unit. • Do not place the unit on a soft surface. such as a rug that would block the ventilation holes on the bottom. • Do not install the unit: -near heat sources such as radiators or air ducts. -ina place subject to direct sunlight. excessive dust. mechanical vibration or shock. On moisture condensation If the player is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placedIna very damp room. moisture may condense on the lens inside the unit. Should this occur. the player will not operate. In this case. remove the disc and leave the player turned on for about an hour until the moisture evaporates. Detaching the Side Panels After removing the screws. secure the cabinet with the supplied lock screws. Do not use the longer screws. For safety. before doing this. be sure to disconnect the AC power card from the AC outlet.
