Recording high quality photos during movie recording (Dual Rec) You can record photos during movie recording by pressing PHOTO. Notes may appear when the capacity of the recording media is not enough or when you record photos continuously. You cannot record photos while is displayed. When [ REC MODE] is set to [HD FX], you cannot use Dual Rec. Tips When the MODE lamp is set to (Movie), the size of photos becomes [ 5.3M] (16:9 wide) or [4.0M] (4:3). You can record photos during recording standby in the same way as when the (Photo) lamp is turned on. Controlling the image settings manually with the RING It is useful to assign a frequently used menu item to the RING. The following is an example of the procedure when the [FOCUS] setting is assigned (the default setting). RING automatic and manual every time you press the MANUAL button. Rotate the RING to adjust the focus manually. Menu items that can be assigned [FOCUS] (p. 79) [EXPOSURE] (p. 79) [IRIS] Shoots images with the IRIS priority mode. If you adjust the IRIS, you can sharpen the subject with its background blurred or sharpen the whole image. [SHUTTER SPEED] Shoots images with the SHUTTER SPEED priority mode. When you shoot a moving subject at a higher shutter speed, it appears as if frozen on the image. At a lower shutter speed, the subject appears as if it flowing. [AE SHIFT] (p. 80) [WB SHIFT] (p. 80) To assign the menu items to the RING Press and hold the MANUAL button for several seconds. The [RING SETTING] screen appears. Recording/Playback MANUAL button Press the MANUAL button to activate the manual adjustment mode. The setting mode switches between Rotate the RING and select a menu item to be assigned.
