Menu items (Continued) EDIT menu You can display the [EDIT] menu by pressing the MENU button when the THUMBNAIL or playback screen is displayed. EDIT Menu item PROTECT DIVIDE DELETE Sub-items/Settings - - - Description Protects (locks) files (p. 58). Divides a movie (p. 58). Deletes a movie (p. 59). PICTURE PROFILE menu The PICTURE PROFILE menu is displayed by pressing the ASSIGN3/PICTURE PROFILE button. Item BLACK LEVEL GAMMA Sub-items Settings -15 to +15 Description Sets the black level. STANDARD, STILL, CINE1, CINE2, CINE3, CINE4, ITU709 Selects a gamma curve. STANDARD: Standard gamma curve for movies. STILL: Gamma curve for still image capture. CINE1: Softens the contrast in dark parts and accentuates gradation changes in bright parts to produce images with subdued tones (equivalent to HG4609G33). CINE2: Produces a similar effect to [CINE1]. Select this to obtain images with 100% video signal for editing or other purposes (equivalent to HG4600G30). CINE3: Increases contrast between bright areas and dark areas more than [CINE1], and accentuates gradation changes in blacks. CINE4: Increases contrast in dark areas more than [CINE3]. The dark area contrast is weaker and the bright area contrast is stronger than that of [STANDARD]. ITU709: Gamma curve equivalent to ITU-709. Gain in low intensity area: 4.5. 82
