Troubleshooting If you've experienced any of the following difficulties while using your phone, use this troubleshooting guide to help you remedy the problem. Should any problem persist, consult your nearest Sony dealer. General Making calls Symptom Remedy The base phone does not operate properly. • Make sure the AC-T46 Sony AC power adaptor is connected to the base phone and an AC outlet. Do not use the AC-T127 Sony AC power adaptor with the base phone. You hear five short error beeps when you press (TALK). • Make sure you have set up the base phone correctly (page 11). • Move the cordless handset closer to the base phone. • Make sure the base phone or another cordless handset is not making intercom call or outside call. • Make sure another cordless handset is not checking the Caller ID list, etc. You hear no dial tone. • Make sure the telephone line cord is securely connected to the telephone outlet. • Make sure the battery is fully charged (page 14). Remedy
Make sure the AC-T46 Sony AC power adaptor is
connected to the base phone and an AC outlet. Do not
use the AC-T127 Sony AC power adaptor with the
base phone.
Make sure you have set up the base phone correctly
(page 11).
Move the cordless handset closer to the base phone.
Make sure the base phone or another cordless handset
is not making intercom call or outside call.
Make sure another cordless handset is not checking
the Caller ID list, etc.
Make sure the telephone line cord is securely
connected to the telephone outlet.
Make sure the battery is fully charged (page 14).
Make sure the dialing mode is set correctly (page 16).
Make sure the dialed number is really the one you
want to dial.
During phone conversation, press
(VOL°+)
on the base
phone to increase the speakerphone volume.
Make sure that the registered call number is correct.
Set the ringer volume on the cordless handset to high
or low. (page 40, 41)
The battery may be weak. Charge the battery for more
than 12 hours (page 14).
