241BA019 KN English Replacing the Skirt Removing the skirt 1 23 4 N Loosen and remove the screw (1). N Remove the washer (2). N Pull the skirt (3) off the lug (4) and out of the deflector. Position of skirt 53 N Position the skirt (3) correctly in relation to the depth wheel (5): The wheel is on the left - the skirt must project to the right. 241BA015 KN 241BA009 KN Fitting the skirt 3 4 N Push the skirt (3) into the slot in the deflector until it can be engaged on the lug (4). N Fit the washer on the screw. N Insert the screw and tighten it down firmly. 241BA017 KN Replacing the Cutting Blade 1 A CB Do not attempt to straighten or weld a bent or cracked blade - it may break - it must be replaced - see "Mounting the Cutting Blade". STIHL recommends you use only original STIHL cutting blades - see "Special Accessories". Do not resharpen the blade. N Replace the blade (1) if its length (A) is no longer sufficient to maintain the necessary ground clearance (B) and obtain the required depth of cut (C). Checking out-of-balance To avoid out-of-balance: N Have your dealer check the blade for out-of-balance on a STIHL balancer (special accessory) - STIHL recommends an authorized STIHL servicing dealer. If blade is out-of-balance, fit a new one - see "Replacing the Edger Blade". 28 FC 90

Removing the skirt
N
Loosen and remove the screw (1).
N
Remove the washer (2).
N
Pull the skirt (3) off the lug (4) and
out of the deflector.
Position of skirt
N
Position the skirt (3) correctly in
relation to the depth wheel (5): The
wheel is on the left – the skirt must
project to the right.
Fitting the skirt
N
Push the skirt (3) into the slot in the
deflector until it can be engaged on
the lug (4).
N
Fit the washer on the screw.
N
Insert the screw and tighten it down
firmly.
Do not attempt to straighten or weld a
bent or cracked blade –
it may break
it must be replaced – see "Mounting the
Cutting Blade".
STIHL recommends you use only
original STIHL cutting blades – see
"Special Accessories".
Do not resharpen the blade.

Replace the blade (1) if its
length (A) is no longer sufficient to
maintain the necessary ground
clearance (B) and obtain the
required depth of cut (C).
Checking out-of-balance
To avoid out-of-balance:

Have your dealer check the blade
for out-of-balance on a STIHL
balancer (special accessory) –
STIHL recommends an authorized
STIHL servicing dealer. If blade is
out-of-balance, fit a new one – see
"Replacing the Edger Blade".
