The drive link tangs will otherwise scrape along the bottom of the groove - the cutters and tie straps will not ride on the bar rails. Shroud Removing the shroud N Move the Master Control lever to the stop position (0). N Push the hand guard forward - the chain is locked. 1 2 1 1 N Open the twist locks (1) by turning them 1/4 turn counterclockwise with the combination wrench. N Remove the shroud (2). Installing the shroud N Place the shroud in position. N Close the twist locks by turning them a 1/4 turn clockwise. Cleaning the Air Filter If there is a noticeable loss of engine power N Remove the shroud - see "Shroud" Removing the air filter N Clean away loose dirt from around the filter NOTICE Do not use tools to remove and install the air filter - the air filter could be damaged in the process. 1. 2. N Turn air filter 1/4 turn counterclockwise and remove in the direction of the rear handle N Always replace a damaged filter Cleaning the air filter N Knock out the filter or blow it clear with compressed air from the inside outwards If knocking-out or blowing-out does not suffice, or in the case of stubborn dirt or stuck filter fabric, the filter must be subjected to a thorough cleaning. If groove depth is less than specified:
N
Replace the guide bar.
The drive link tangs will otherwise
scrape along the bottom of the groove –
the cutters and tie straps will not ride on
the bar rails.
Removing the shroud
N
Move the Master Control lever to the
stop position (0).
N
Push the hand guard forward – the
chain is locked.
N
Open the twist locks (1) by turning
them 1/4 turn counterclockwise with
the combination wrench.
N
Remove the shroud (2).
Installing the shroud
N
Place the shroud in position.
N
Close the twist locks by turning
them a 1/4 turn clockwise.
If there is a noticeable loss of engine
power
N
Remove the shroud – see "Shroud"
Removing the air filter
N
Clean away loose dirt from around
the filter
NOTICE
Do not use tools to remove and install
the air filter – the air filter could be
damaged in the process.
N
Turn air filter 1/4 turn
counterclockwise and remove in the
direction of the rear handle
N
Always replace a damaged filter
Cleaning the air filter
N
Knock out the filter or blow it clear
with compressed air from the inside
outwards
If knocking-out or blowing-out does not
suffice, or in the case of stubborn dirt or
stuck filter fabric, the filter must be
subjected to a thorough cleaning.
