A Appendix Sample options file This appendix includes the following topics: ■ About the sample options file About the sample options file The following is a sample options file for use with the -options command line installation flag. You must edit the contents of this file to replace the default values provided with the values you want to use for your installation. The default values are for Linux/Solaris installations, but you can replace them with the Windows-appropriate values. Other sample options files (with additional features, such as invoking the 'custom' installation scenario), are available on the product CD in the /tools/options_files directory. Note: If you use an options file for silent upgrade on Windows, you must restart your host manually when the installation procedure is completed. To call an options file so that its contents are substituted for the answers in the installation procedure, do one of the following: ■ For Linux/Solaris: navigate to the installation directory for your platform and type: sudo ./install -silent -options ■ For Windows: launch a command window, navigate to the Windows installation directory on the product CD and type: install.bat -silent -options
