PRECAUTIONS SUPPLIED ACCESSORIES Remote Control Unit Batteries ("AA", "R6" or SUM-3) * Always grasp AC plug when you disconnect AC line from your home outlet. DISC HANDLING * Use discs which have mark on them as shown. (Optical audio digital discs.) Audio Connection Cable 0 DEO COMPACT DIGITAL AUDIO * Always keep disc in its protective case or sleeve when it is not in use. LOCATION For safe operation and satisfactory performance of your CD player, keep followings in mind when selecting a place for its installation: * Shield it from direct sunlight and keep it way from sources of intense heat. * Avoid dusty or humid places. * Install it in a well ventilated place. * Avoid locations subject to strong vibration. * Install it in a horizontal position. * Keep unit away from tuners and TV sets. Installation of unit in close proximity to such equipment may cause noise or interference picture. In such a case, turn off power. * Do not operate unit immediately after it has been moved from a cold place to a warm place. Moisture condensation may prohibit proper operation. In such case, allow unit to stand for about one hour before use. * When holding discs, do not touch their signal surfaces. Hold by edges, or by one edge and center hole. O * Do not affix gummed labels or tape to label surfaces. Also, do not scratch or damage label. * Disc rotate at high speed inside player. Do not use damaged (cracked or warped) discs. AVOID HAZARDS OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND FIRE * Do not touch power plug with wet hands. * Never pull, bend or extend power cord. This could CD damage power cord, resulting in a broken cord or shortcircuit. 5
