TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE If you do have a problem, try the suggested remedy in the chart below before bringing this unit to our authorized service facility for assistance. Problem Possible Cause Disc tray does not come out when OPEN/CLOSE button is pressed. * Power plug is disconnected from outlet. * Power switch is OFF. When playback is started, it stops immediately. Paused or stops during playback. * Disc is loaded upside down. * Smudges on the disc, etc. No sound. * Audio cables are connected incorrectly. Sound is distorted. A particular spot on the disc does not play correctly. Sound cuts out, or same spot is repeated.. Remote control will not function. * Connections to amplifier are wrong. * Amplifier volume is set too high and sound is being clipped. * Disc is dirty. * Defective disc. * Dead batteries. * Too far from player or wrong angle. * Obstruction between player and remote control unit. Remedy * Insert the power plug into the power outlet securely. * Press Power switch ON. * Load the disc with the label side up. * Carefully clean the surface of the disc. * Connect the audio cables to the output terminals of the player and the input terminals of the amplifier. * Connect player to proper amplifier inputs. * Turn down the amplifier output volume. * Clean the surface of the disc. * Replace disc. * Replace batteries. * The distance between remote control unit and player should be no more than about 20 feet (6 meters). * Relocate remote control unit or remove obstruction. -16-
