TV/VCR SECTION TV OPERATION AND SETTINGS DAYLIGHT-SAVING TIME TV/VCR Select this feature and the unit clock will automatically advance one hour in April, then reverse one hour in October. • First Sunday of April : At 2 AM, the clock immediately changes to 3 AM. Any timer programming you have set to occur between 2 AM and 3 AM will be canceled. • Last Sunday of October : At 2 AM, the clock immediately changes to 1 AM. 1 Press [SET-UP]. - TV/VCR SETUP - Use [K / L] to point to TIMER PROGRAMMING B SETTING CLOCK CHANNEL SET UP "SETTING CLOCK", then USER'S SET UP V-CHIP SET UP press [ENTER]. LANGUAGE [ENGLISH] CAPTION [OFF] ZERO RETURN TIME SEARCH INDEX SEARCH 2 Use [K / L] to point to "D.S.T.". - SETTING CLOCK - AUTO CLOCK [ON] AUTO CLOCK CH SEARCH AUTO CLOCK CH [ 02 ] MANUAL CLOCK SET B D.S.T. [ON] 3 Press [ENTER] to select "ON". NOTE: • To cancel the setting, select "OFF". 4 Press [SET-UP] to exit the menu. ON-SCREEN MENU LANGUAGE TV/VCR You can select the language of on-screen menu among English, Spanish and French. 1 Press [SET-UP]. Use [K / L] to point to "LANGUAGE". - TV/VCR SETUP - TIMER PROGRAMMING SETTING CLOCK CHANNEL SET UP USER'S SET UP V-CHIP SET UP B LANGUAGE [ENGLISH] CAPTION [OFF] ZERO RETURN TIME SEARCH INDEX SEARCH 2 Press [ENTER] repeatedly to select "ENGLISH", "ESPAÑOL" or "FRANÇAIS". 3 Press [SET-UP] to exit the menu. NOTES: • This function effects only the language on the screen menu and not the audio source. • If for some reason the menu is already in Spanish or French, press [SET-UP], using [K / L] point to "IDIOMA [ESPAÑOL]" or "LANGAGE [FRANÇAIS]", then press [ENTER] repeatedly to select desired language, then press [SET-UP]. CLOSED CAPTION SYSTEM TV/VCR You can view specially labeled (cc) TV programs, movies, news and pre-recorded tapes with either a dialogue caption or text display. 1 Press [SET-UP]. NOTES: • Even if any power failure, the unit will retain its memory for this feature. • Some programs are not broadcasted with closed captions. The unit is designed to provide error-free closed captions with high quality antenna, cable and VCR signals. Conversely, poor quality signals are likely to result in caption errors or no captions at all. • Common signal conditions which may cause caption errors are listed below: - Electric motor brush noise - Weak snowy reception on TV screen - Multiplex signal reception displaying picture ghosts or airplane flutter • If the unit displays a black box on the TV screen, this means that the unit is set to the TEXT mode. To clear screen, select "CAPTION1", "CAPTION2" or "OFF". TO CANCEL THE CLOSED CAPTION SYSTEM 1 Press [SET-UP]. Use [K / L] to point to "CAPTION". 2 Press [ENTER] repeatedly to select "OFF". 3 Press [SET-UP] to exit the menu. 11 EN
