When the time has elapsed The cooking zone switches off, the y display flashes and the cooking zone switches to power level ‹‹. An acoustic signal sounds. ‹‹ and the Ú indicator flash in the timer display. When the y symbol is touched, the indicators go out and the acoustic signal ceases. Notes ▯ To set a cooking time of under 10 minutes, always touch 0 before you select the required value. ▯ If a cooking time was set for several cooking zones, the time information for the selected cooking zone is shown in the timer display. ▯ Select the relevant cooking zone to call up the remaining cooking time. ▯ You can set a cooking time of up to ŠŠ minutes. Kitchen timer The timer can be set for periods of up to 99 minutes. It is independent of the other settings. You can also use the kitchen timer when the cooktop is turned off or locked. This function does not automatically switch off an element. Setting procedure 1. Touch the KITCHEN TIMER key. The ‹‹ symbol and the Ú indicator light up in the timer display. 2. Select the required time on the control panel and touch the KITCHEN TIMER key to confirm. After a few seconds, the time begins to elapse. Changing or deleting the time Touch the KITCHEN TIMER key. Change the programmed time using the number keys or set ‹‹ to delete the programmed time. Touch the KITCHEN TIMER key to confirm the selected setting. When the time has elapsed An audible signal sounds once the time has elapsed. ‹‹ and the Ú symbol flash in the timer display. The indicators go out after touching the KITCHEN TIMER key. Stop Watch Function The Stop Watch function displays the time that has elapsed since activation. This functions independently from the cooking zones and from other settings. This function does not automatically switch off an cooking zone. Activating Touch the STOP WATCH key. The ‹‹ symbol and the Ú indicator light up in the timer display. The time begins to count up. Deactivating Touching the STOP WATCH key turns off the stop watch function. The timer displays remain lit. If you touch the STOP WATCH key again, the displays go out. The function is deactivated. PowerBoost® Function The PowerBoost® function enables you to heat up large quantities of water faster than when using heat setting Š. This function can be activated for a cooking zone at any time, provided the other cooking zone in the same group is not in use (see illustration). Note: The PowerBoost® function can also be activated in the Liberty™ cooking zone if it is being used as a single cooking zone. Activating 1. Select a cooking zone. 2. Touch the POWER BOOST key. The ›. indicator lights up. The function is activated. Deactivating 1. Select a cooking zone. 2. Touch the POWER BOOST key. The ›. display goes out and the cooking zone switches back to power level Š. The function is deactivated. Note: In certain circumstances, the PowerBoost® function can switch itself off automatically in order to protect the electronic elements inside the cooktop. 15
